Vintage elegant oil painting of a square-rigged sailing vessel signed "VAN SAUL" the pseudonym for William F Paskell. Paskell was born in 1866 and moved with his family to the U.S. in 1872 where he lived and painted until his death in 1951. He is known for his landscapes and marine paintings and has been associated with the "White Mountain" school of artists. Measures 24 by 20 inches in original frame which measures 27 by 23 1/2 inches. Very good condition with small perforation & in need of a good cleaning. |
